Mahar Sharyiyar – A Young Man Changing Lives in Pakistan
At just 25 Mahar Sharyiyar has become a name people associate with hope and kindness. He is not a celebrity or a businessman — he is a young social worker who simply decided to help those who couldn’t help themselves.
Back in 2016 he started his journey with a simple wish — to bring smiles to poor and orphaned children. What began as one young man dream slowly grew into a movement of thousands of volunteers who now stand beside him to make Pakistan a more caring and educated nation.

The Start of The Volunteer Society
Mahar founded The Volunteer Society to help children and families through education, safety awareness, and youth programs. For him, real change means improving lives for the long run, not offering quick fixes.
Through this organization, Mahar and his team run awareness programs, build small learning centers, and help children who can’t afford school. Today, the society has grown into a large family of passionate young people who believe that even small efforts can change lives.
The IT Labs Initiative – Opening the Digital Door
In 2022, Mahar started something that changed many young lives — the IT Labs Initiative. The goal was to help poor children learn computer skills and prepare them for the modern world. He and his volunteers built computer labs in orphanages and madrasas, complete with systems, furniture, and teachers.
So far, 23 IT labs have been completed. In 2024 alone, they finished 17 labs, helping more than 1,300 children gain digital knowledge. Each lab cost around PKR 200,000 to 220,000, funded entirely by donations.
By 2026, Mahar hopes to set up 20 more labs so that children from underprivileged families can have equal access to technology.
Every child deserves a chance to learn and dream big. — Mahar Sharyiyar
Wind of Shattering the Silence – Teaching Safety to Children
Mahar wanted children not only to study but also to feel safe. To make this happen, he launched a campaign called “Wind of Shattering the Silence.”
The program teaches kids about good touch and bad touch, personal safety, and how to speak up when something feels wrong.
This campaign has reached over 25,000 children in 300+ schools, madrasas, and orphanages. One of the most powerful moments was when a young girl was rescued from abuse thanks to this program.
The impact was so strong that its lessons were later added to Pakistan’s national curriculum.
Quran Libraries Project – Learning Beyond Books
Mahar also started the Quran Libraries Project, believing that real education includes moral and spiritual learning. These libraries provide students in schools and orphanages with access to the Holy Quran and other Islamic books.
Children learn not only about religion but also about kindness, patience, and honesty. Through this initiative, Mahar hopes to build a generation that values both knowledge and character.
Apna Ghar – A Home with a Heart
Besides The Volunteer Society, Mahar also founded Apna Ghar, a shelter that provides food, education, and care to orphans, women, and poor children.
For him, Apna Ghar isn’t just a charity — it’s a family built on love, trust, and hope. It’s a place where no one is turned away.
